What are your examples of enveloped RNA viruses?

PORC is enveloped with aRiNA (flour)

*just breaded porc chop guys, :))

P- Paramyxoviridae

O- Orthomyxoviridae

R- Rhabdoviridae (rabies virus)

C- Coronaviridae

What are your examples of enveloped DNA viruses?

Enveloped DNA says "Ha Ha! I'M WRAPPED!!!"

H- Herpesviridae

H- HepaDNA viruses

Easy huh?

Hmmmm so, can your C&E (chloroform & ether) affect...say...parvoviridae? (DNA virus)

C&E only affects enveloped viruses.

Parvoviridae is not part of the "HaHa" team of enveloped DNA viruses.

And thus, it is resistant to C&E lysis.

Parvs: Uh-oh, sorry try again!! >:D

What do you mean by tropism?

Does tropism add to the pathogenicity or antigenicity of a virus?

Tropism is the affinity of viruses to certain cells or tissues. (like attraction! <3)

And is determined by the receptors on the host cells.

It adds to the pathogenicity of viruses (the ability of the organism to harm the host)

Actually, tropism is a determinant of a pathogenicity of the virus.

Like if (+) tropism then (+) harmful virus.

What virus causes gastroenteritis mostly?

KHALEESI viridae ex. Khaleesi's stomach is aching because she ate some raw horsemeat.

"Caliciviridae", seriously.

Want an interesting mnemonic about the main taxonomic rank?
