Red Blood Cell Specialisation

BiConcave - allows for faster absorption of Oxygen. No Nucleaus - Can absorb more Oxygen.

Sperm Cell Specialisation

Have a tail to help them swim faster. Large number of mitochondria to release more energy from glucose during respiration

Nerve Cell Specialisation

Axons - long extensions to help quickly move nerve Impulses. Myelin Sheath - Insulates electrical Impulse. Cell body also has smaller extensions to pick up signals from neighbouring cells.

Muscle Cell Specialisation

Large number of mitochondria as muscular contractions require alot of energy. Able to contract and relax.

Root Hair Cell Specialisation

Have small thin extensions that poke out increasing available surface area and allowing for more mineral ions Nd water to be absorbed

Xylem Cell Specialisation

Made of Individual dead cells that have no end walls and no contents causing it to be hollow. Reinforced Side Walls to Support the weight of the plant. Walls strengthened by lignin.

Phloem cell Specialisation

Fewer cell organelles allowing sugar to travel easily. Specialised end walls called 'Sieve Plates' that have small holes in them
